This tax season, we’re 'looking' out for you! We'll do our best to break down some of the information for you to understand. Please note that the following is not tax advice and you should always report your income in compliance to tax laws. If you have additional questions about how to file or that are specific to your tax situation, please contact a tax professional in good standing with the IRS.
Looker Taxes 101
All Lookers for WeGoLook are Independent Contractors. No matter the type of income you’re reporting, you are not considered an employee of WeGoLook. That means, you are not required to provide WeGoLook’s EIN (Employer Identification Number) on your tax return.
Will I get a 1099 from WeGoLook?
Lookers who received at least $600 in payments in the last year will receive a Form 1099. The 1099 with 2016’s information will be sent by mail and postmarked no later than Jan. 31, 2017.
Can I write off expenses like mileage?
We do not provide our Lookers with their mileage and is the responsibility of the Looker to track. We highly recommend speaking to a tax professional to verify you report all WeGoLook related activity in the best way possible. Depending on your work, you may be able to write off more than just mileage.
When and how do I fill out a W-9?
